The Coorong is an exceptional coastal environment in South Australia – a saline lagoon ecosystem that stretches 140km. Separated from the Southern Ocean by extensive dunes it is host to an extraordinary variety of birds.  I was fortunate to do a residency there in 2023.

Samphire is a salt tolerant plant that is plentiful in the Coorong area.  They come in many colours and with the late afternoon sun behind, glow ruby red.
